One of the most important terms that we have learned over the past few years is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). One of the most important keywords that we use for our SEO is gun safety classes for kids. It was recommended to us in one of our SEO meetings with our web host, HFB Technology. We have been with them for almost 5 years now, and they have helped us ensure our website is running well at all times. I have a monthly meeting with Mark, who has been a mentor, a teacher, and most importantly, a friend, throughout this process. Of all of the meetings that I have monthly, it is the meeting that I have with him that I look forward to the most. It is in these meetings that we cover the analytics from the site and strategize for the future. We have come a long way since the beginning, and we are ever-evolving. I typically write weekly now for our website. I have enjoyed putting my thoughts into a topic and being able to put those very thoughts into written form that eventually goes out into the universe to attract new viewers to our website for our SEO.
Yesterday, I received a phone call on our 800 number. It was from a news reporter based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He mentioned that he had entered “Gun safety Classes for kids” and we were the first website to pop up!! I was so excited to hear that. It meant that all of my hard work our SEO was paying off. We had a great conversation and set up a time for an interview the following day so that we could do a news story for his channel in his hometown. I shared my news with Mark, and he was excited to hear the news. It is always a great feeling to be able to share these important wins with him. We are very much on the same team, and he has become a huge asset to the work that we do to protect children. His help keeps our message growing to reach more people month after month. I am proud of our website because it showcases the work that we do. I had a great interview today with the reporter from the ABC affiliate in North Carolina. Now I am sitting down to document my thoughts on the experience.
If you are new to our website, you can find a plethora of information there. You can find a list of our classes, you can register on our calendar, and you will find reviews on our blog. You can also donate to help us continue to grow and reach more children across the country. Funding is critical for us to be able to continue the important work that we do. I equate all the work on our SEO to fishing. I am casting out all of these different lures, hoping to attract visitors to our website. It can be a lot of work at times, but I also find it very rewarding. I am creating a digital footprint that will last. Once I post a blog post, it goes to our Google Business page. Then it will be repurposed and eventually put on our Substack page. From there, the content will go out via email. This gives us many uses of the same piece of content. All leads back to our website, and this is what helps us defeat the shadow bans or censorship. Our SEO has helped us continue to reach parents, no matter how big tech tries to prevent it.
Over the years, I have embraced my writing. I have found it therapeutic. I enjoy being able to speak on a topic that I am passionate about. It helps educate, entertain, and inform the general public. I always try to speak from a position of expertise and in a positive way. I feel that it is important to always present information from a positive perspective. Parents are looking for solutions, and we aim to provide just that: viable solutions. We use our social media as a way to draw people back to our website. Since December, the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation Facebook page has exploded from 4500 followers to closing in on 70,000 on the date of publishing this post. That is huge for us and has helped us reach more than 10 million people in the last month. What a wild ride, and we are thankful for the extra reach. This will help us attract more sponsors and will keep us growing exponentially.
In closing, you never know what piece of content you put out that will resonate with someone who is searching for the topic. This is especially important for content creators to remember: just keep putting out content. That is what we do, and it continues to work out for us. Every day, we put out some form of content, which could be written or in video form. It will go on Instagram, my Facebook page, the KSF Facebook page, Triggerhill, and YouTube. As you can see will be casting out a lot of “lures.” Let’s hope we reach the people who need our help. Until next time. Be safe!!
